Every day that I arrived at the center, the children were so receptive of me. I would read them stories β I'm a storyteller. I was basically the reading teacher, and I am very passionate about reading.
When I started as a program intern, I was working with youth coaches. We kind of built a group together, and we really worked on creating fun online programming.
He placed them in leadership roles, he introduced young people to technology⦠That's the kind of thing that we need right now in our community. That's the kind of thing that makes your community strong.
The next time I chatted with him, he said those Minecraft programs were the best thing we ever ran, and it felt like after you left, we never got that magic back.
